Flagship JD Sports Shops – Leeds, Birmingham and Bluewater Shopping Centre

Kiwi Design is proud to have been the principal contractor responsible for fitting out three more large flagship stores for JD Sports.   These projects ran in parallel throughout the year, alongside our other commitments, and each fit-out provided its own individual challenges.

At Bluewater, Kiwi Design fitted out a temporary store to the high standards required by JD Sports, to allow them to continue trading as usual while the larger main store was made ready.   This larger store, which opened in time for Christmas, is hugely successful, selling sports fashion footwear, clothing and accessories on the Lower Thames Walk in the Bluewater Shopping Centre at Dartford. 

Our work for JD Sports in Leeds has been equally successful.  Kiwi Design has received feedback to suggest that local residents really appreciate the look and quality of this new store.   The project involved some highly technical structural works, including cutting out concrete to house new escalators and lift shafts.  In addition, we created a feature shopfront by cladding it in an elegant fibre cement material in a natural colour.  The store can be visited at 129-132 Briggate Street in Leeds.

The third flagship store in Birmingham also involved the complete fit-out of an existing shop.  The work was carried out in the run-up to Christmas and the location of the store, near the German Christmas market, meant that careful planning was required when arranging the delivery of the escalators, to avoid disrupting the market stalls.

These three projects – and a dozen other JD Sports jobs we carried out this year – demonstrate Kiwi Design’s ability to deliver high quality products in the required timescale and to the client’s budget.  Our problem-solving approach, professionalism, flexibility and reliability means that our clients return to us time after time, working in partnership[ to produce exciting retail spaces and give our clients the competitive edge.
